FAITH ON FIRE! (CENTENNIAL EDITION):

When the World Prayed for TWA Flight #847

DSCN0125DECEMBER 9, 2014:  The Faith on Fire! series of talks continued with the heartfelt and deeply spiritual stories of fellow parishioners George and Jo Ann Lazansky and their experiences of being held hostage on TWA Flight 847 in 1985. Special thanks to George and Jo Ann for their riveting stories. It was as if the crowd of more than 150 in attendance was transported back in time– when the world prayed and waited.

“I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks.”
~Shakespeare

Sincere gratitude in Jesus to our Parish Ministries and Stewardship Team for puting on a very memorable event!

GAZA MISSION UPDATE:

Greetings from Father Mario da Silva

In July, we were visited by Father Mario da Silva, who is a missionary living in the Gaza Strip. Many parishioners were touched by his story and that of his mission. We are happy to report that Father has made it back to his mission in Gaza City safely. Since his visit, he has been providing us updates…

OCTOBER 2014:  Baterias

Hello St. Margaret Mary! Thank you for your concern and prayers. I am very good. I have now a lot of work, we have so many people whom needs our help and we are working for this. I am in Gaza now. When I arrived from USA I stayed a week in Bethlehem after this I could come to my mission. I have been 25 days in the war. It was incredible.

Now we are work with the reconstruction here.

I am working with some projects, by your help we can help some people here in Gaza. For example, I am giving some batteries for the people here [click here for a DropBox Gallery of images from Father Mario] because after the war we have just 4 hours of electricity in a day, but with this batteries we can have more 8 hours of electricity. It is a very beautiful project.

Also I can give work (with salary) for some youth here in Gaza. Also we were able to do so many activities with the children and the young people (yesterday for example, we had in our parish 100 youth playing in our church).

We can perform all these activities by the help you have given us.

Thank you very much for your help.

May God bless you.

Fr. Mário da Silva, IVE
